Analysis of 2 e-commerce websites

In this post I want to analyse and compare 2 e-commerce websites, which are selling sport equipment - JDSports and SportsDirect


The home page of JDSports contain a links to large number of features such as: wishlist, reviews from Google, search bar, basket and categories.

Next stage of my analysis will focus on HTML code of the website

As we can see in the picture, the webside source code is divided into head and body.

Head contains informations about webpage such as title, language, description and keywords, which are usefull in SEO.

Moreover, head contains some JavaScript code, which are responsible for dynamic and moving graphics and other parts of the page.

Body of JDSports contain the links to product and categories pages, images and JavaScript code with webpage features.

Now, I want to compare it with SportsDirect website.

At the beginning, the home page of SportsDirect does not contain that many features as JDSports, for example the link to Google reviews. However, most of the features such as hyperlinks to categories, basket and search bar are similar on both websites

In compare to JD, SportsDirect is using different keywords. JD is more focused on using parts of the clothes names such as jacket, trousers etc., SportsDirect is using the names of sport equipment such as football boots, gym kit and or swimwear.

The body source code looks similar, both websides have the same features such as hyperlinks to categories, basket, JavaScript code, footer etc.

Why encryption is using in case of online transaction? It means, all of the data exchanged between the server and customer will be encrypted, which makes even in case of attack, hackers will be not able to decrypt the data.
